Battling morons.

"Oh my God it's raining sprinkling!!!!!"
I swear that is what you could hear everyone on the freeway saying this morning. It's pretty embarrassing, how Californians drive when moisture has the nerve to fall from the sky.

11 days

Today marks 11 days until I am an Mrs.! Woo! It also marks 9 days until we leave for Cancun! Time is flying right by. Time also doesn't care that there are 11431345454 things I need to do to get ready to leave for Cancun.

Things I need to do but didn't think about until the last couple of days:
-Make sure our house is clean as a whistle!
-Wash all of our bedding so I can (1) make up a clean bed for the house-sitter, (2) have clean sheets to put on when we get home
-Mainly make sure things are done so when we get home I don't have to do anything right away
-Make sure there is enough of everything at home for the dogs

We are having a dog/house sitter stay at our house while we are gone. It's way cheaper than boarding the dogs for a week, plus they will be better adjusted when we get back as well.

On top of ^all of that^ I also need to get everything packed for the wedding itself, then get myself packed for the rest of the trip, and make sure Ted is packed. It will all get done, I just wish we had done some things a couple of weeks ago rather than the last week leading up to leaving. :)

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and is enjoying the holiday season!
I am really looking forward to 2010 and everything the next year will have in store for us!

Day 1

Today is Day 1 of "Oh shit I can't believe I chose a wedding date so soon after the holidays! I love holiday food and have zero self-control!" So I'm having Special K for lunch. :( :) That is both a happy & sad for me. I love cereal, and I really think Special K with Red Berries is delicious, but on the other hand I'm sad because I like having a REAL lunch + I know my workout today will suffer because I'm not eating enough protein. I may not be making the best choices right now, but honestly it comes down to - my dress HAS to fit, and I want to feel good in it. I can't go falling off the wagon into a giant bowl of creamy, buttery mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Plus, looking at my calendar, I realized that I will hardly get to work out the week before we leave. That is no good! I belong to a private gym, not an LA Fitness or 24 Hour, so I can't just go work out anytime. And... unfortunately - yes - I am the person who needs someone to work out with. After Christmas there are only 3 days I can go work out, because of New Years & weekends when the gym isn't open. Oh good grief!! I really put myself in a pickle with this one. This may be a good time to start practicing self control :)

I am really happy the holidays are here. I have so much to be thankful for this year. My family is healthy, I'm healthy, I'm marrying my best friend in just a few short weeks, it's in our first home together, our puppies are healthy & loving, I still have a job, my nephew is the cutest thing ever & I get to watch him open presents this year!!, and I'm gaining a new family full of amazing people.

It's the week before Christmas and it was 80 degrees here today...

Time to get ready for the gym Christmas Party tonight! I belong to a small gym and the owner always organizes a Christmas party. This year it's Mexican... oh how I do love Mexican food.

This year we've gotten so many Christmas cards! I think it's because the wedding is coming up and it's our 1st Christmas in our house. Regardless of the reasoning, I'm so happy to have received each & every one of them! What a blessing to have all these great people in our lives. :)

Now - party time!!!

It's only 10am

It's only 10am here and already I have almost been in TWO accidents! I know everyone says this - but they really wouldn't have been my fault if they had become accidents.

Oh! The best part is that they were both while I was driving to the post office to get the mail for work -- only to get to the post office and there is NO MAIL. Not one piece of junk mail, which also means that the post office is falling down on the job. I mean, I don't want to sound heartless here, but their one and only job is to deliver mail, and they can't even do that? Holidays shmolidays. Grrr.

I'm staying in my safe office until it's time to leave. Ugh.

Thanks HGTV

...For making me realize that we did not paint our house buyer-friendly colors.

When we bought our house we instantly agreed that we did not want any white walls in our house. There's nothing wrong with white walls, they just aren't our style. We also didn't want "beige" or anything like that to be a main color in our home. This was our first chance to put our stamp on our own home, and we were doing it with color.

Our living room, also the single largest room in the home, is painted blue. It's a nice blue, kind of a soft sky blue. Our kitchen and hallway are painted a light gray color. The downstairs/laundry room area is painted green - like avocado green. I, personally, love it. Buyers will not. Our second bedroom is also painted that green color. Our full bathroom is painted a soft yellow. The master bedroom is painted... oh how do you describe this color... it's a chocolatey color with hints of olive green in it. It's a very nice color, and it works in our room because it's a big room with very high ceilings. Our half bath is still the left over horrible burnt orange the previous owners left us, mixed with some primer cut-in. Eventually that room will be painted ivory with subtle, horizontal white stripes. I know, I know - we said no white. The problem is that the half bath is so small, we didn't want to overwhelm the space. Plus I love, love, love white bathrooms. In my mind white = clean, and I love a clean bathroom... who doesn't?

I know that when we are ready to sell (in like... 7 years?) we will have some serious repainting to do. Who knows? We may even hate these colors in a couple years and repaint everything then. Until that time comes we will sit here, with our pups, and bask in the glory of our blue walls and floral artwork. :)

One month

So... our wedding is one month away. In less than one month we will be in Cancun, hopefully relaxing.

I was wondering if it was normal for the fact that our wedding is a month away, to make me want to vomit? The stress of everything coming together is starting to get to me. I'm so thankful my mom has made (yes, forced) me to get some things done in the last week. I would have continually put them off until... who knows when!?

Pretty much every day something pops into my head that I need to do. Some things pop in & out with my pondering "Do I really need that?" I'm so OVER all the planning. I just want to be in paradise with the love of my life, my best friends, and dearest family.
