happenings
We will be starting a bathroom renovation in our new home very soon. I'll be updating the good ol' blog with pictures and stories. Hopefully some day I will get to posting some pictures of our general home renovations - mainly all painting related, as we can't really move walls around in a Townhouse. HOA's generally frown on that.
We will also be pouring a new patio slab in the near future (thanks to my very generous dad!). We don't have anything fancy planned for that, just a concrete patio, so hopefully when it rains it will no longer flood our "basement" area. Soooo convenient that the HOA covers everything structural - except the patio slabs. I wonder what they're afraid of? The fact that they are probably ALL leaking?? Perhaps. Whatever, at least I know if my dad fixes it - it will get done right.
Lets see... we also need to paint our dining area in the kitchen. By the time we got to that room we were so over painting, we just couldn't do it. So now we need to finish that project already - seeing as we moved into our house in October '09. :) We will also be renovating our half-bath sometime this year. I am actually really excited about that one. The space is small, but I have some really exciting ideas for it. I feel like we can "splurge" a little on that one, since it's so small. We can afford to go with some nice flooring because it's such a small space to cover. We'll see what happens.
On Sunday we had our wedding reception. Since we got married in Cancun, we had a reception at a later date at home so all of our family & friends could come. It was so fun! I am so glad we did it. We had it at the Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. The room (Parlor Room) was amazing. It looked so good, and my in-laws provided the flowers - which looked awesome! It was my vision come to life. I will post pictures when we get them from the photographers (who were also awesome!). The staff at Jazz Kitchen were so friendly & helpful, and the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend them for your next event, or just a yummy lunch or dinner.
All in all, life is good. Enjoying being married. :)

Mrs!
We are home from Cancun and officially hitched! Cancun was amazing, gorgeous, refreshing, invigorating, romantic, and cold. :) Hehe. It was a tad cooler than I expected, but the weather on the wedding day was perfection. Leaving Cancun was bittersweet. On one hand, I am always happy to get home. On the other hand, I was genuinely sad to leave Cancun. I felt like we could have stayed another week and that would have been perfect. I just loved being there, hanging out, nowhere to be, no schedules or dogs to look after (not that I don't love our dogs! it was just a nice break). Just not a care in the world.
Bliss = being in paradise with your nearest & dearest, enjoying simple moments of happiness brought about through conversations, buckets of beers, and laughter.
I'm glad to be home, I always miss the familiarity of my own pillow - especially since I hate down pillows, and that is the only kind our resort used. I had to stack up like four of them to feel supported, hahaha. Poor Ted was left with one pillow because I kept stealing them.
We went to Chichen Itza... it was amazing. Seeing as it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, that seems normal. It should be amazing, and it was. It's crazy to stand next to these structures that have been around for centuries. More time than my mind can fully comprehend. It's amazing that they are still standing. You can't climb them anymore, which is sort of a bummer. I didn't actually want to climb it, but maybe sit at the foot of El Castillo, wander up half way and imagine what it may have looked like to the Mayan people.
Now I am enjoying snuggle time with my husband and our pooped out puppies. :) Life is great.
p.s.: I have to take a moment to mention the struggles & grief that the people of Haiti must be experiencing right now. My heart goes out to them. I hope that aide & comfort find every person in need and they can begin to rebuild their lives stronger than before this tragedy.

11 days
Today marks 11 days until I am an Mrs.! Woo! It also marks 9 days until we leave for Cancun! Time is flying right by. Time also doesn't care that there are 11431345454 things I need to do to get ready to leave for Cancun.
Things I need to do but didn't think about until the last couple of days:
-Make sure our house is clean as a whistle!
-Wash all of our bedding so I can (1) make up a clean bed for the house-sitter, (2) have clean sheets to put on when we get home
-Mainly make sure things are done so when we get home I don't have to do anything right away
-Make sure there is enough of everything at home for the dogs
We are having a dog/house sitter stay at our house while we are gone. It's way cheaper than boarding the dogs for a week, plus they will be better adjusted when we get back as well.
On top of ^all of that^ I also need to get everything packed for the wedding itself, then get myself packed for the rest of the trip, and make sure Ted is packed. It will all get done, I just wish we had done some things a couple of weeks ago rather than the last week leading up to leaving. :)
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and is enjoying the holiday season!
I am really looking forward to 2010 and everything the next year will have in store for us!

Day 1
Today is Day 1 of "Oh shit I can't believe I chose a wedding date so soon after the holidays! I love holiday food and have zero self-control!" So I'm having Special K for lunch. :( :) That is both a happy & sad for me. I love cereal, and I really think Special K with Red Berries is delicious, but on the other hand I'm sad because I like having a REAL lunch + I know my workout today will suffer because I'm not eating enough protein. I may not be making the best choices right now, but honestly it comes down to - my dress HAS to fit, and I want to feel good in it. I can't go falling off the wagon into a giant bowl of creamy, buttery mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Plus, looking at my calendar, I realized that I will hardly get to work out the week before we leave. That is no good! I belong to a private gym, not an LA Fitness or 24 Hour, so I can't just go work out anytime. And... unfortunately - yes - I am the person who needs someone to work out with. After Christmas there are only 3 days I can go work out, because of New Years & weekends when the gym isn't open. Oh good grief!! I really put myself in a pickle with this one. This may be a good time to start practicing self control :)
I am really happy the holidays are here. I have so much to be thankful for this year. My family is healthy, I'm healthy, I'm marrying my best friend in just a few short weeks, it's in our first home together, our puppies are healthy & loving, I still have a job, my nephew is the cutest thing ever & I get to watch him open presents this year!!, and I'm gaining a new family full of amazing people.

One month
So... our wedding is one month away. In less than one month we will be in Cancun, hopefully relaxing.
I was wondering if it was normal for the fact that our wedding is a month away, to make me want to vomit? The stress of everything coming together is starting to get to me. I'm so thankful my mom has made (yes, forced) me to get some things done in the last week. I would have continually put them off until... who knows when!?
Pretty much every day something pops into my head that I need to do. Some things pop in & out with my pondering "Do I really need that?" I'm so OVER all the planning. I just want to be in paradise with the love of my life, my best friends, and dearest family.
